There was a specific skill set and clear brief from the client for this hard to fill role:

  • 10 + years experience in Mechanical or Chemical/ Process Engineering
  • Experience in power generation, gas and steam turbine experience.

Tailored Solution

The campaign included A key component of this campaign was to be able to promote the role internationally, as finding individuals with steam and gas turbine experience in New Zealand is particularly hard and there are many more plants located overseas.

Google Ad Words, LinkedIn pay-per-click ads and the LinkedIn Job Slot were utilised to target a semi-passive audience that matched the clients’ specific skill set and focused on individuals located in NZ, the UK and UAE.

This sourcing methodology allowed us to pinpoint candidates online by- language, location, likes/ interests, industry and functional expertise, specific power plants, seniority, and role specific key words. Based on this criteria text and banner based ads appeared only on matching LinkedIn profiles, managed websites and related articles or websites. 


For the client the campaign was an integral part of why they wanted to use tailor recruitment advertising. They found the campaign excellent value for money and felt that there was no other means that they could have achieved the reach, and would look to use this again for future roles.
